Residing in Glenview for over 10 years, Ramakant Kharel has always felt at home in this vibrant, welcoming community. With 30+ years of experience in the restaurant business, Ramakant’s passion for hospitality, flavor, and cultural connection runs deep. Over the years, he’s not only served food but built friendships and listened to the voices of people curious to learn more about Indian cuisine and culture.

He realized something was missing in Glenview—a culinary destination that could bring people together while celebrating the diversity and richness of Indian, Nepali, and Indo-Chinese fusion flavors. That spark of inspiration gave birth to The Clove Indian and Nepali Cuisine—not just a restaurant, but a cultural hub where every bite tells a story and every evening feels like an experience.

But The Clove is more than food. It’s an experience, an idea, and a mission. Ramakant’s dream goes beyond the kitchen. Once a month, the restaurant will host a unique cooking show, showcasing chefs from startup restaurants and emerging culinary talents. Guests will enjoy a 5-course tasting menu paired with 2 complimentary drinks, while learning the art behind the dishes. These events will not only offer entertainment and education but also provide a platform for other small businesses—a beautiful way of lifting each other up. With 25 years of experience in the IT industry, Ankur Sharma has always nurtured a deep passion for food and dreamed of owning a restaurant. After years of dedication to his professional career, he decided to follow his true passion and embark on a journey to create something unique and unprecedented. Combining his love for culture, community, and culinary arts, Ankur is on a mission to bring people together through food, creating a space where cultural belonging and a sense of community flourish.

Ankur’s extensive background in IT has allowed him to leverage technology in ways that enhance the dining experience at The Clove. He is committed to utilizing innovative solutions to make the culinary journey more efficient, immersive, and memorable. His experience in leadership roles within various social organizations has shaped his philosophy of helping others and fostering an environment of growth.
